At the Regular Board Meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Giddings Independent School District Board of Trustees named Shane Holman as the lone finalist for Superintendent of Schools.

“The entire Giddings ISD Board is excited to work with Mr. Holman, and we are confident in his ability to continue moving Giddings ISD forward in a positive direction,” said Board President Jason Locke. "He has dedicated many years to serving the students, staff, and families of Giddings ISD. His deep roots in our community, extensive leadership experience, and unwavering commitment to student success make him uniquely qualified to lead our District into the future.”

Holman has 36 years of experience in public education, including the last 30 years in Giddings ISD. A graduate of Giddings High School, Holman has served the District in numerous capacities throughout his career, including teacher, coach, campus administrator, and Assistant Superintendent. His lifelong connection to Giddings ISD and the community reflects a strong commitment to the District's success and traditions.

Following the announcement, Holman expressed his appreciation to the Board of Trustees and the Giddings community.

“It is truly an honor and humbling experience to be named the lone finalist for Superintendent of Giddings ISD,” said Holman. “This District and community have meant so much to me and my family throughout our lives. I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the Board of Trustees, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our outstanding staff, students, parents, and community members to build upon the strong traditions and successes of our district.”

Per Texas law, the Board of Trustees must wait 21 days before officially voting to hire Holman as the next Superintendent of Giddings ISD.
