2026-2027 Schedules will be ready for pickup next Wednesday, August 5th between 8:00am and 1:00pm. Freshman will receive their schedule on August 4th at Freshman orientation but if you are unable to attend they will be available on the 5th.
As we prepare to welcome students back for the new school year, we'd like to share a few important schedule updates for Giddings High School.
• School Day Extension: The school day has been extended by 5 minutes. Students will now be dismissed at 3:40 PM instead of 3:35 PM.
• Buff Time: Buff Time has been moved from 3rd period to 2nd period.
• Official Attendance (ADA): Daily attendance (ADA) will now be taken at 10:00 AM during 3rd period, rather than at 9:30 AM during 2nd period.
The updated bell schedule is attached for your reference.
As a reminder, GHS doors open each morning at 7:30 AM.

Freshman Orientation for all 2026-27 incoming 9th graders will be held August 4th at 6:15pm in the GHS Cafeteria.
The high school office will be closed from July 1st through July 19th. Summer office hours will resume on July 20th.
Buff Nation is excited to introduce Lacy Lara as the new Giddings High School cheer coach. Lacy is already very familiar GHS and Buff nation. Coach Lara is also our AP/AD secretary. She will be getting started right away working with the cheer team this summer and then heading to cheer camp with them. Please help us welcome Coach Lara to her new role and. We are looking forward to the 26-27 Cheer season and school year!

Giddings ISD Parents: You will soon be able to see your child's STAAR scores in the GISD Parent Portal. When you open the Parent Portal, click on the GREEN button labeled "Texas Assessment," and you will be able to see the current scores and past scores, if applicable. If you are unable to access the Parent Portal, you will need to contact your child's school to obtain the access code.
STAAR EOC Results for Grades 9-12 will be available June 10th, and STAAR Results for Grades 3-8 will be available June 16th.
Giddings ISD celebrated another successful school year with a luncheon on Friday, May 22nd. The theme of the luncheon was "One Town, One School, One Family."
The District awarded service pins to employees who have served in the District for five to thirty-five years, recognized retiring employees, and presented awards to the employee and teacher of the year.
Just a reminder, gates open tonight at Buffalo Stadium at 6:30pm. Both the visitor and home sides will be open, there will be water for purchase also. Can't wait to see everyone there to celebrate the Class of 2026.
During the spring semester the Giddings High School Beta Club earned 373 community service hours. Community Service hours were earned through various activities such as coaching little league, helping with Lee County Law Enforcement Support Organization Gala, the Giddings Volunteer Fire Department Gala, Lee County Veterans Association, and visiting with residents of local nursing homes.
In addition to the community service hours, Beta Club’s spring service project was “Pennies for Pets” benefitting the Giddings Animal Shelter. Beta members raised over $485 in donations from Giddings High School students and collected food, treats, toys, collars, blankets, and towels for the animals at the shelter.

On April 30, the GHS Interact Club hosted their first annual stuffed baked potato fundraiser. Over 500 tickets were sold, generating over $7,500 that will go back to our graduating seniors. We would like to thank the Rotary Club of Giddings, all of our donors, and the community for helping us make this event a success.

This past weekend GHS BBQ was well represented at the THSBBQ state competition in Granite Shoals. One team, the Junior Ranch Hands consisting of Hagen Boullion, Kayden Kasper, Emma Meachen, and Chase Ramirez, earned reserve champions which consisted of 19th place for beans, 3rd place for chicken, and 2nd place for brisket. The other team, the Grill Billies, consisting of Hunter Eyler, Skyler Johnson, Rebekkah Richardson, Kaleb Sherrod, and Nathan Snyder, earned 20th overall receiving 5th place for chicken. Congratulations to these two teams on representing GHS well! Go Buffs!
