Giddings ISD wants to inform you that after dismissal today (March 18, 2026) at Giddings Middle School, a student was reported to have made a threat. Administration immediately responded and worked with the Giddings Police Department, which has determined there is no active threat at this time. Student safety remains our top priority. Please remind your child to report any concerns to school staff immediately.
To meet the state-required instructional minutes and avoid having a make-up day on May 8, 2026, the Board of Trustees has approved eliminating the previously scheduled early release day on Friday, March 6.
As a result, school will dismiss at the normal time on March 6, 2026. The scheduled early release will not occur.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we adjust the school calendar to avoid a bad weather make-up day. Thank you for your continued support.
