In order to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the had UIL relaxed policies during the regular season to allow livestream broadcasts of high school football games. However, the UIL recently published a notice that live stream broadcasts will be NOT be allowed during the 2020 UIL Football Playoffs.
According to the notice, UIL’s agreement with its broadcast partners strictly prohibits the use of live streaming sites including Facebook Live, Instagram Live, Twitter Live and YouTube Live to stream football playoff games.
The live streaming video broadcast previously provided by KGID will not be permitted during the playoffs. However, KGID intends to provide their regular radio broadcast at 96.3 FM.
The Buffaloes first playoff game will take place in Smithville against Manor New Tech on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 pm. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday (Nov. 10) at noon.
