The GHS Lady Buffs Volleyball team picked up a huge win on the road against Taylor last Friday in four sets. The Lady Buffs will matchup with La Grange tonight in La Grange starting at 6PM. The Lady Buffs are currently tied with La Grange for the district title.

Congratulations to three Giddings HS Buffalo Band members for winning a place in the ATSSB Region18/26 Jazz Band in a competitive audition this past Saturday, September 17. Alonzo Tello earned 3rd Trumpet Rafael Salazar earned 1st Alto Saxophone Palbo Luna earned the only available Bass Guitar spot. He also recorded his audition for a chance to make the All-State Jazz Band Also, Andrew Clark placed 2nd on Baritone Saxophone and is considered an alternate to the band The All-Region Jazz Band is scheduled to perform a concert at the Wilhelm Performing Arts Center in Bastrop in January, and will be made up of students from Giddings, Wimberley, Caldwell, .Manor New Tech, Brentwood Christian Academy, Taylor, McDade, La Grange, Lexington, and Meridian World School.

A special provision has been approved to provide free meals (breakfast and lunch) to ALL GISD students at all four campuses. This program takes effect immediately, so meals are free to all students beginning Friday, Sept. 2. Giddings ISD will be conducting its first required lock-down drill of the school year THIS MORNING, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, at approximately 9:15am.
This is only a drill. Law enforcement agencies will be on the scene at each campus, but there is no cause for alarm.
