The Giddings Buffaloes boys soccer team advanced to the Regional Quarterfinal round of the playoffs and will meet Royal @ Columbus at 7pm TONIGHT (Thursday). Tickets are $5 at the gate. #GoBuffs

The Giddings High School boys and girls soccer teams will begin the first round of playoffs this Saturday in Smithville. Both teams even have the same opponent, which will be Columbus. Great news! We have added an extra day of curbside distribution on Friday 12th to provide 5 breakfasts and lunches during our Spring Break. Any child 18 and under qualifies to receive these meals. Distribution will take place from 8:45AM- 9:45AM on Friday March 12th in our Middle School Bus Lane, which is behind the Middle School. Due to the weather conditions, as well as continued power and water shortages across the county, GISD administration officials have decided to cancel all classes through tomorrow, Friday, February 19th. We expect school to resume on Monday, Feb. 22. TEA has extended their waiver to include the entire week, so GISD will not be required to make up any lost days for this week.

GISD will not be required to make up the school days missed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If it becomes necessary to close school on Friday, that day will be made up on Monday, April 5. The GHS Lady Buffs basketball Bi-District playoff game has been rescheduled again due to adverse weather conditions in Cameron. It will now be played in ROCKDALE tomorrow (SATURDAY) at 11am. Previously purchased tickets will be honored.
